Let’s say this right off the bat. Not every shoot you do will be successful. Or turn out exactly as you envisioned.
In this case, I had dreamed up multicolored swirls of a lush bath bomb fanning out in a tub with a dope black girl and her afro. It was gonna great. In reality, the rainbow colored bath bomb we picked up fizzled out into a flat ocean-blue (still pretty but it just looked water colored). The lighting was wonky in my bathroom. The tub not big enough. And the bath home burned the shit out of my models eyes.
From a logistical stand point, the shoot was a disaster. From a personal stand point, the shoot was a beautiful failure because I figured out how not to do a bath shoot and what I need to do for my next one to make it work. Also, the model (who I had met by randomly running up to her on a street in Wynwood) and I became great friends because of this shoot. So you’ve gotta learn to roll with the punches because not everything will turn out 100%. It’s why TFP shoots are so crucial to developing your work. Also, when one shoot location isn't working out. Move to another one. In this case we moved to a much bigger 'bathtub' and shot in a pool. And make a gif.
